What I do

I help neurodivergent, queer, adult individuals who are struggling with identity, shame, and purpose, and how individual and systemic experiences impact them in self-actualization, relationships, work, leisure, school, and parenting. I utilize Derald Wing Sue’s model of racial-cultural competence to increase clients’ awareness, knowledge, and skills for pursuing therapeutic goals of identity, emotional regulation, anxiety, depression, trauma, gender dysphoria, body dysmorphia, religious trauma, and neurodivergence.

Who I commonly work with

I work with queer and straight adults who are autistic and/or ADHD, have anxiety, OCD, trauma, or depression, and experience religious deconstruction and questions. Many of whom I work with experience cognitive distortions, emotional dysregulation, dissatisfaction with appearance, and burnout, and I also work with those with activated sympathetic nervous systems that lead to day-to-day dysfunction via fight, flight, freeze, and fawn stress responses at the individual, relational, and systemic levels.

Services I offer

I provide individual psychotherapy for queer neurodivergent adults who are exploring identity questions, have issues with eating and/or body image, and challenges in their relationships, at work and in self-care. I utilize Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Health AtEvery Size (HAES), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Multicultural Therapy.

This work is often a good fit for people who want:

  • Therapy that balances a focus on emotions with practical tips and tools for managing their life

  • to live their life more authentically and in line with their values

  • to show humor and are able to laugh about their situation or laugh at themselves while also not completely avoiding their emotions

  • To process the impact of Evangelical, high control/authoritarian culture

This might not be the best fit if you’re:

  • needing crisis-level care

  • wanting a highly structured, manualized treatment

  • wanting a space to talk about your problems but are not in a space to make changes in your life

  • offended by someone who swears a lot

  • Wanting someone to tell you what to do

I am a licensed professional counselor (LPC015420) in Georgia and I work with adults in individual psychotherapy sessions that can be in-person or online/virtual. Services are private pay or with Blue Cross/Blue Shield (BCBS) Aetna, United, or Cigna Insurances.
