Rachel Megdal, LMSW
she/her
I approach therapy from an integrative, relational, and trauma-informed lens. I believe you are the expert on your own life, and my role isn’t to fix you, but to help you understand yourself more clearly, build a more compassionate relationship with your inner world, and move toward a life that actually feels aligned with who you are, or who you want to be.
I tend to work with adults navigating anxiety, trauma, ADHD, relationship patterns, identity questions, or just feeling stuck in ways that are hard to explain. My work is grounded in EMDR, Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), along with somatic and attachment-based approaches. In practice, that means we’re not just focusing on thoughts, we’re also paying attention to your nervous system, your relationships, and the parts of you that developed to help you cope, even if they’re now creating distress.
I show up as a real person in the room, and I aim to create a space that feels genuine, grounded, and non-performative. You don’t have to have the right words, a clear story, or a certain way of being here. I also hold in mind that a lot of what people struggle with doesn’t exist in a vacuum. Culture, relationships, expectations, and past experiences all shape how we see ourselves and move through the world, and we make space for that, too.
Ultimately, my goal is to help you feel more connected to yourself, more confident in how you navigate your life, and less controlled by patterns that no longer serve you, even if those patternsonce made perfect sense.
